Music License
Issued by: SOUNDSE, operated by Daniel Kraft — see the Legal Notice at soundse.com
Contact: info@soundse.com
THIS LICENSE IS GRANTED TO
This license is issued to the purchaser identified on the corresponding SOUNDSE order and billing receipt. It
is valid only in connection with that genuine purchase (see Sections 5 and 6).
Keep this document together with your order confirmation. It is your proof of a valid license.
In plain words. You bought it — it’s yours to use. You can use this music in almost anything, commercially, worldwide, forever, with no subscription. The only real limit: you can’t resell, share, or hand out the music itself as if it were your own. That’s it. The formal terms below make this legally binding.
1. Your license
When you purchase a SOUNDSE pack, you (the “Licensee”) receive a worldwide, perpetual (lifetime), non-exclusive license to use the music tracks in that pack (the “Music”). You may use the Music in an unlimited number of your own projects. No subscription, no renewal, no expiry.
You do not buy ownership of the Music. SOUNDSE and its contributing producers remain the owners and copyright holders. You buy the right to use it, as described here.
2. What you can do
You may use the Music, including for commercial purposes and in monetized content, in projects such as:
Videos and content on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and other platforms — including monetized content
Advertisements and commercials (online and broadcast)
Films, documentaries, short films and trailers
Podcasts and audio productions
Websites, apps, games and digital products (as background/soundtrack)
Presentations, events, and in-store / hospitality use
Client and commercial work — see Section 3
Client and agency work
You may use the Music in projects you create for your clients (for example as a freelancer, editor, or agency). This is expressly allowed. However, the license stays tied to you, the original purchaser. This means:
• You may deliver the finished production (e.g. the final video) containing the Music to your client.
• You may not hand over, resell, sublicense or give the client (or anyone else) the raw Music files or this license so they could reuse the Music independently in their own separate projects. If your client needs the Music for their own independent use, they need their own SOUNDSE license.
In short: the Music travels inside your finished work, not as a reusable asset passed down the chain.
4. What you cannot do
You may not:
1. Resell, redistribute, share, upload or give away the Music files themselves, in whole or in part, as standalone audio (e.g. as a download, sample pack, beat, or in any library or marketplace).
2. Pass off the Music as your own — claim authorship or ownership, or sell/license it as your own music, beats or sounds.
3. Make the Music available in any way that lets others extract or download the underlying audio.
4. Register the Music (or any part of it) with any content-identification system (e.g. YouTube Content ID) as
your own — see Section 7.
5. Use the Music, or any part of it, to train or develop AI or machine-learning models or datasets.
6. Use the Music in unlawful, hateful, defamatory or infringing content.
5. The license is tied to a valid purchase — not to the file
This is important. The license exists only in connection with a legitimate, verifiable purchase from SOUNDSE. It is granted to the original purchaser and is linked to the order / invoice on record with SOUNDSE.
Simply possessing the Music files, or a copy of this document, does not grant a license. If the Music was not obtained through a genuine SOUNDSE purchase that can be traced to the person using it, no license exists — regardless of how the files were obtained.
The license is personal and non-transferable. It cannot be resold, gifted, lent or transferred to another person.
(If someone bought a pack as a gift for you, the purchase and license must still be traceable to a genuine SOUNDSE order.)
6. Unauthorized use & enforcement
If anyone uses the Music without being able to demonstrate a valid SOUNDSE purchase traceable to them — for example because the files were downloaded from an unauthorized or pirated source, shared by someone else, or otherwise not backed by a genuine order on record — that use is unlicensed and infringing.
In such cases, SOUNDSE reserves the right to take legal action and to claim damages, compensation and any further remedies available under applicable law, as well as to require that the infringing use stop immediately. Being unable to prove a legitimate purchase in your own name / order means you are using the Music without a license, and you may be held liable accordingly.
We take this seriously — it protects both us and every honest customer who paid for their license.
7. Copyright claims (e.g. YouTube Content ID)
Because our Music is non-exclusive and used by many customers, automated systems like YouTube Content ID may sometimes flag legitimately licensed music. Do not register our Music in Content ID or similar systems as your own — this is prohibited and can wrongly affect other legitimate users.
If a platform’s automated system flags Music you have legitimately licensed from us, contact us at info@soundse.com with your order details, and we will help you resolve or clear the claim. Your SOUNDSE license and order confirmation are your proof of authorization.
8. AI-assisted content
In the interest of transparency: some SOUNDSE tracks are created with the assistance of, or generated using, AI music tools; others are produced by human producers using traditional methods. The catalog is a mix of both. The legal status of AI-generated material varies by country and is still evolving. We grant you the usage license described here so you can use the Music in your projects as intended. However, we do not warrant that every element of the Music — in particular AI-generated elements — is protected by copyright in every jurisdiction, and we cannot grant exclusive rights in such elements. You are responsible for complying with the AI-related policies of any platform on which you use the Music. If you need music guaranteed to be 100% human-created for a specific project, contact us before purchasing.
9. Warranty & liability
We warrant that we are entitled to grant the license described here in respect of the rights we hold. Except as expressly stated, and except for mandatory rights that cannot be excluded by law, the Music is licensed “as is.” Nothing in this license excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law (including for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body or health).
10. Termination
This license is perpetual, but SOUNDSE may terminate it if you materially breach these terms (for example, by reselling or redistributing the Music) and fail to remedy the breach within a reasonable time after notice. On termination for breach, you must stop using the Music in new projects.
11. Governing law
This license is governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence.
